Workshop "Exploring Socio-Technical Research", 22.-23. September 2022
On September 22 and 23, 2022, an exciting and extraordinary workshop will take place at TU Dresden, focusing on current innovative socio-technical research. Social scientists and IT specialists will provide detailed insights into their cross-disciplinary work, both methodologically and in terms of content. The workshop offers time and space for in-depth discussions and exchange about socio-technical research work, a rare opportunity in everyday scientific life. Special guests of the event are Prof. Autumn Edwards and Prof. Chad Edwards (Western Michigan University), renowned experts in the research field of human-machine communication, who will give a workshop on the latest research approaches in qualitative experiments. Other exciting projects will report on research in Living Labs, in the digital city and on the production of digital publics in the Maghreb. Warm invitation!

The social program also has a lot to offer. The event will open on Thursday, September 22nd from 4pm, with an unusual and impressive presentation by Esmeralda Conde Ruiz, artist-in-residence of the Schaufler Lab @TU Dresden, an interdisciplinary discussion and a reception. Members of the Sociology of Media Communication Section are already looking forward to the traditional awarding of the dissertation award on the second day of the event. Those who still want to discover the alternative sides of Dresden after the event can register for an alternative city tour. Timely registration is worthwhile here, the places are limited!
The event is organized by the research project "Disruptions of Networked Privacy" (DIPCY) together with the Sociology of Media Communication section of the German Communication Association (DGPuK). Thanks to the generous support of the research network "Disruption and Societal Change" (TUDiSC) and the German Communication Association (DGPuK), participation is free of charge.
