Studying at the IfK
As an empirical social science, communication science concerns itself with the systematic research of conditions, structures, processes, content, and consequences of public communication, particularly mass media communication. The bachelor’s in Media Research, Media Praxis instructs students in fundamental knowledge about communication science and allows specialization in selected research fields. In addition to training in social scientific research methods and statistical data evaluation, the course of studies also contains a career practical component.
At the center of the master’s in Applied Media Research are empirical methods for researching media and public communication. On the basis of specifically social scientific, psychological, and statistical theories, our graduate students learn essential skills for academic and commercial research.
