Kon-IP-chiwa! Our Partner Universtiy Keio is located in Tokyo and Kanagawa, one of the world's largest major metropolitan areas. Living in Tokyo is a chance to experience Japan through its capital city with its many contrasting faces: unique customs, natural beauty, and futuristic technology. With all of the modern trappings and conveniences of a modern city. Not only can you get to know an other culture as such, at the Keio University our students also get the unique possibility to get to know the different legal culture.
Moreover, our Student also have the opportunity to visit lecutres at Waseda Law School at Waseda Univeristy.
The application deadline for studies at the Keio University (Tokyo) is 15th January, regardless of whether the studies are to begin in the summer or winter semester.
Unlike our other foreign partner universities, Keio University conducts its own selection process. We propose selected applicants, but the final decision is made by Keio University (around May).
Students who want to start their studies already in the summer semester have to indicate an alternative partner university in case Keio University (Tokyo) does not accept the application.
Semester schedule
The study period in Tokyo for our LL.M. students begins in mid-September and ends in February. Following their studies in Tokyo, our students complete a subject-related internship of at least 4 weeks at a location of their choice.

Exam performance
Our students take three examinations in the field of intellectual property law or business law.
