Extraordinary Professor Prof. Dr. Michael Hofmann

Since 2007 Michael Hofmann has been Extraordinary Professor at the Institute of Sociology of TU Dresden. His research focuses on milieu sociology and transformation research as well as on various sociocultural topics such as social reciprocity, men's studies, or history of everyday life.

In his teaching, Michael Hofmann offers primarily socio-structural and socio-cultural topics. He holds lectures on the changing social structure in Germany and on European cultural sociology, for example. In his seminars and research seminars, the focus is in particular on modern forms of gift exchange. Michael Hofmann supervises students in the Bachelor's, Master's, and Diplom programmes.
