How can I imagine studying sociology in Dresden?
Do you sometimes ask yourself why things are the way they are? For example, why our society is going through so many crises? Why there is still poverty despite prosperity? Or why we continue to adapt our lives to digital technologies? If so, then sociology could be just the right subject for you! These are just a few of the questions that are repeatedly asked in the social science of sociology and answered through theoretical considerations and empirical studies. Sociology aims to find answers to what moves society. To do this, it collects data using surveys or interviews, for example, in order to subsequently identify both problems and solutions.
A sociology degree course can be very varied and can be individually tailored. In many modules, students can choose between seminars with different thematic focuses, theoretical approaches, academic texts and discussion formats. The choice of second major subject and professional internship also depends on personal interests.
