A Right to Participation - Young people are struggling to be represented in international politics
Whether climate, health or migration, young people are particularly affected by issues in international politics. However, they have only limited opportunities for participation in international politics. Prof. Dr. Anna Holzscheiter and Dr. Laura Pantzerhielm report on this in the current issue of WZB-Mitteilungen, the quarterly issue for sociology of the Social Science Research Center Berlin. In the publication "Anspruch auf Teilhabe - Um die Repräsentation junger Menschen in der internationalen Politik wird gerungen" (A Right to Participation - Young People's Representation in International Politics is Being Struggled Over; only available in German), the researchers describe how the young generation's opportunities for co-determination on pressing issues in international politics are determined. A first insight into the currently running binational research project "Youth Participation in Global Politics: A Comparison of Climate, Health and Migration Governance", which is conducted together with Linköping University, Sweden, is given.
