The Chair of International Politics invites you to join our discussion event with Professor Valeria Korablyova on "The Russian War on Ukraine and the Changing World Order: Colonial Legacies, Epistemic Injustice, and Increasing Heterarchy".
Valeria Korablyova is Assistant Professor, Department of Russian and East European Studies; Leader of Ukraine In A Changing Europe Research Centre, Institute of International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. She works on post-Soviet transformations in Ukraine and the region, with a special focus on mass protests, performative politics, and complex colonial/imperial legacies.
Dr. Korablyova received her habilitation (D. of Sc.) degree in 2015 from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. She has been a research fellow and/or visiting professor at Stanford University, IWM in Vienna, University of Basel, JLU Giessen, and others. Her most recent publications include: ‘Why Is Ukraine Important? Challenging the colonial and Cold War Legacies in European social sciences’ in Soziologie (vol. 52, no. 3, 2023); “Russia VS. Ukraine: A Subaltern Empire Against The “Populism of Hope” in Acta Universitatis Carolinae – Studia Territorialia (# 2 2022); “Who Owns the Ukrainian State: The Elites – People Tensions After 1991” in Regions of Conflicts in Eastern Europe (Harrassowitz, 2023); and the special Topos issue “Transformations of Society and Academia in the Wake of the Russian War in Ukraine: Urgent Notes” (#2 2022).
