Welcome - Prof. Dr Elvira Rosert Becomes Interim Professor (SS 2024 - WS 2024/25)
We are delighted to welcome Prof Dr Elvira Rosert at the start of the new semester. She will be replacing Prof Dr Anna Holzscheiter for one year, who will be concentrating on her own projects during her two upcoming research semesters.
Prof Dr Rosert was most recently Visiting Professor of International Relations at the Centre for Transnational Relations, Foreign and Security Policy at the Free University of Berlin. Normally, She is a Junior Professor of Political Science, in particular International Relations at the WiSo Faculty of the University of Hamburg and at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH). Before moving to Hamburg, Rosert was a PostDoc at the Chair of Public Law and International Law at the University of Giessen and part of the research group "Conflict and Normative Change" at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (HSFK). During her doctoral studies, she was a Research Associate in the programme area "Arms Control and Disarmament/International Security" at the HSFK and at the Professorship for International Institutions and Peace Processes at Goethe University Frankfurt.
With peace and progress as her guiding interests, she researches and teaches on international norms. In particular, she focuses on the preservation and promotion of human security in all its aspects, e.g. in the context of international humanitarian law, arms control and disarmament as well as (global) health policy. Her work also focuses on international institutions (especially the United Nations) as well as research design and research methods.
With her focus areas and her relevant research and teaching experience, Prof Dr Rosert will not only be an excellent replacement for Prof Dr Anna Holzscheiter, but will also be an enrichment for the students. We are looking forward to an exciting year with Prof Dr Rosert and wish Prof Dr Anna Holzscheiter every success in her research.
