Poster: Peace - How does it work?
A poster that invites the viewer to locate themselves and reflect on various concepts of peace.
Here is the PDF in DIN A 1 format (59.4 cm x 84.1 cm)
Didactic commentary:
We offered this poster shortly after the beginning of Russia's military invasion of Ukraine. It is based on a concept that we developed a few years ago on behalf of the Federal Agency for Civic Education for the exhibition "Making Peace" and is very well suited to bringing together different concepts and ideas about what peace is and how it can be promoted. After all, the people we work with do not always have the same ideas about how peace can be achieved. The poster can help to make the different ideas of the participants visible by means of a simple point survey and then encourage discussion about why one or the other description was more or less convincing. Videos or audios that present the topic from different perspectives could also be included, e.g. the recording of the panel discussion on the "Making Peace" exhibition, which can be accessed via this link.
As an alternative to asking for points, participants could also be asked to first write down themselves (on post-its) what they understand by peace and how it can be promoted, and then have these sticky notes placed on the poster.
What is also necessary:
Depending on the variant, the poster can be used on its own or in combination with in-depth materials. Depending on the basic didactic idea, sticky dots or sticky notes are then required. For the inclusion of media, the presence and functioning of playback stations (iPads or similar) or a projector should be ensured.
