Evaluation of the participation projects funded by SMJusDEG
The involvement of citizens in political processes is an essential element of a functioning democracy. Therefore, the financial and professional support of participation projects is of great social relevance. The Saxon State Ministry of Justice and for Democracy, European Affairs and Equality (SMJusDEG) supports both civil society projects and those of municipalities and districts that promote the concrete involvement of local peopulation as part of its Citizen Participation funding guideline.
To examine the results of these projects and ensure their quality, the SMJusDEG is having the funded projects evaluated by the Chair of Comparative Politics between 2023 and 2026. The Chair already has a long-standing core research focus for local (digital) participation, which means that it can draw on a broad range of expertise. Both qualitative and quantitative methods are used for evaluation; among other things, there is a mapping of all funded projects.
