Our fields of research lie in the area of normative political thought, modern political thought, international political theory, state theory, democratic theory, postcolonial and feminist theory. The focus is on the study of political ideas and values such as justice, human rights and democracy not only in the West, but also in the non-Western world.

PUSH*BACK*LASH pursues two goals: (1) Firstly, to systematically analyse the current debate on issues of gender equality and gender politics at the level of both elites and citizens; (2) Secondly, to develop and test strategies that can effectively counteract gender- and misogynistic discourses. With the aim of supporting the quality of democratic governance in more inclusive European societies, we recognise the intersections between gender and other social categories in all phases of the project.
