Lena von Goedeke will be conducting artistic research at the TUD from May to October 2024 on the guiding theme ‘Data↔Worlds. Socio-technical and cultural syntheses of new realities’. Von Goedeke was born in Duisburg in 1983 and now lives and works in Berlin and Svalbard.

The internationally renowned filmmaker and installation artist Rosa Barba will start her residency in September 2023. Rosa Barba engages conceptually within the medium of film through a sculptural approach. In her works, Barba creates installations and site-specific interventions to analyze the ways film articulates space, placing the work and the viewer in a new relationship.

From April to September 2022 artist Esmeralda Conde Ruiz was the third resident artist at Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden. Together with scientists from a wide range of disciplines at TUD and external partners, including HELLERAU - European Center for the Arts and the Dresden University of Fine Arts, she conducted artisti research in the field of Artificial Intelligence and polyphonic singing

From January till August 2021, the New York artist Anton Ginzburg spent his six-month residency at Technische Universität Dresden as the second fellowship recipient in the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden’s artist-in-residence programme. Ginzburg’s preoccupation with AI primarily served as the motor of his artistic practice, whereby he presents AI as an overarching social narrative oscillating between technological utopianism and its disruption.

From autum 2020 till spring 2021, the Viennese artist Christian Kosmas Mayer was the first guest of the lab´s Artist in Residence programme. The point of reference for his artistic research project was the eternal human desire for immortality. The artist located his exploration at the interface of various fields of research in both the natural sciences and the humanities.
