"Invectivity in Literary and Cinematic Representations of Migration in Italy (20^th/21^st centuries)"

Focusing on literary and cinematic narratives of migration within the Italian narrative community, the research project analyzes aesthetic stagings of social conflicts that are carried out in an invective manner. Italy’s recent migration history since the beginning of the 20^th century, with its extensive and complex flows of emigration and immigration, opens up multiple perspectives on conflicts and patterns of political identification, which narratives invest with cultural meaning. The project will examine the role that nar­rative engagements of invectivity play in this context.
