Cooperation University of Colombo
The chair of English Literature Studies offers the chance to study at one of South Asia's best English departments as part of a DAAD-funded exchange programme with the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The English Department at the University of Colombo is internationally renowned for its academic standards and research, and offers a variety of courses with research foci in Postcolonial Studies, Gender Studies, Cultural Studies, and Linguistics. The scholarships are fully funded and cover travel expenses, a monthly stipend, and a subsidy for insurance costs. Full credit transfer (through a ECTS Transfer Scheme, and Learning Agreements) as well as direct personal support on-site in Colombo is also guaranteed.
Applications are open to:
- Bachelor's students in English/American Studies (from the 4th semester onwards),
- Master's students in English/American Studies, EUROS, and LiKWa,
- and teacher training students in English/American Studies (from the first year onwards)
The following documents must be submitted for an application:
- Motivational letter (one A4 page),
- CV (tabular resume),
- Transcript of records (printout from selma or HISQIS),
- Two letters of recommendation from two university lecturers
