Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo/ The Week of the Italian Language in the World
The Week of the Italian Language in the World takes place every year in the third week of October. It is organized by the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes in collaboration with our main partners in the field of language promotion (MiC, MIM, MUR, CePeLL, the Swiss Confederation, the Accademia della Crusca, the CGIE, the Comunità Radiotelevisiva Italofona, the Istituto dell'Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani, RAI Italia and the Società Dante Alighieri) and has become over time the most important event of our language in the world.
In the year of the I International Conference of Italophonie and in continuation of the fifth edition of the States General of the Italian Language in the World, the XXV edition (October 13-19, 2025) will be held under the theme "Italophonie: language beyond borders", with the aim of celebrating the linguistic, cultural and social space of Italian and creating a new community of people around the world united by their passion for our language and, through it, by their attachment to our country.
