Diversity Days 2024Non-violent communication according to Rosenberg (Workshop 2)
This offer is aimed at anyone who sometimes finds it difficult to understand the other person. Understanding" does not mean being of the same opinion. And yet sometimes the attitudes or sensitivities of the other person can be so strange that we have difficulty not immediately falling into antagonism or devaluation.
Non-violent communication according to Rosenberg (NVC)* can help with this. In my view, it is far more than just a communication method, but rather a guide to gaining a different perspective on the other person and thus changing our own attitude to life. However, the fact that "as you call into the forest, so it sounds out" is true and the fact that you feel less easily attacked with an NVC background, i.e. you can stand to ask more questions, for example, often changes not only the way you perceive things, but also the answers of your counterparts.
In two separate sessions of 1.5 - 2 hours each, you will hear a little background on NVC and then practise seeing the world differently and practising reacting to it differently. Because:
"Not the environment, not heredity, but the personal response is ultimately the deciding factor in our lives. And here lies our responsibility!"
- Martin Luther King

*Background: NVC is based on sensing feelings and needs. It assumes that every person can understand all feelings and needs of every person, because ultimately we all have the same feelings and needs, only at different times in different degrees. In addition, the NVC asserts that anger is not an original feeling, but always arises when a need has not been met for long enough. A solution is therefore seen in getting to the underlying feeling and need.
