Study-accompanying offer: Theater - see, think, play
Even though there is no subject "Performing Arts" in Saxony, theater is not only given special importance in the subject of German as part of cultural education. Pupils from all types and levels of school should therefore be given access to different theatrical forms and should deepen and reflect on their aesthetic experiences. The aim is to establish a constructive relationship between reception and production. With regard to teacher training and further education, there is a need for action here, because in order to achieve the goals described in the curricula for the subject of German, teachers and student teachers must acquire the relevant skills and knowledge.
The aim of the course is therefore to offer students of German the opportunity to deal with theater studies, theater practice and theater pedagogy topics in various forms of teaching and learning. In addition to the subject-specific aspects mentioned above, from the perspective of holistic teacher training, it should also be borne in mind that performative skills are among the central facets of the teaching profession: Voice, body language as well as dramaturgy and staging of the lesson should be mentioned as keywords in this regard.
The course consists of three modules with a total of 14 SWS, each of which combines theoretical and practical approaches and can be completed in 3 semesters; it is possible to spread them over several semesters.
Module 1 "Performance practice"
The aim of this module is to broaden and deepen your own theatrical acting experience, which is essential for future scenic work with pupils and also creates a physical awareness for everyday teaching performance in the classroom. In addition to basic acting skills, various forms of theater are taught in their aesthetic specifics and potentials as well as staging approaches. Students should become familiar with the perspective of both the performer and the instructor.
