Study programmes

German Studies can be taken as a subject-related degree programme as part of the Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies and as part of the Master's degree in Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies. German Studies is also offered as a teacher training programme.

Courses

The German Studies course catalogue is no longer structured according to degree programmes, but according to the German studies specialisations (ALI, AVS, DAF, DIDA, GES, KULTWISS, ÄDL/MEDIÄV, NDL). Use the study and examination regulations of your degree programme to get an overview of which modules you still have to take.

Study German language and literature

Graduates of German Studies have in-depth knowledge and skills in German linguistics, literature and cultural studies which, from a German studies and interdisciplinary perspective, enable them to carry out independent academic and knowledge-transfer activities and to work independently in various fields, e.g. science, education, specialist publishing, media and journalism, cultural management, international corporate communication and international organisations.
