International Seminar: The Roman Biographers and their Audience (28/29 Nov. 2023)
The “International Seminar” is a new event format of the Institute for Classical Philology: international scholars come to Dresden and offer an English-language programme specifically for students, consisting of one lecture and one seminar session — the perfect opportunity to gain insight into current and interesting research topics through didactic mediation and also to strengthen one's own English language skills.
For winter semester 23/24, we were able to win Pauline Duchêne from the University of Paris Nanterre, who will give an insight into current debates on ancient biography and, in doing so, will especially address the ancient audience of these texts and their horizon of expectations:
Pauline Duchêne (Université Paris Nanterre): “The Roman biographers and
their audience”
- Lecture, 28 November 2023, 6.30–8 p.m. (W48/103)
- Seminar, 29 November 2023, 1–2.30 p.m. (W48/001)
All students are welcome, regardless of degree program or number of semesters!
