International Conference: Herodian // Historiography and Literature at the End of the High Empire
As part of the DFG-funded project "A Commentary on Herodian's 'History of Emperorship after Marcus Aurelius'", Mario Baumann and Maria-Eirini Zacharioudaki, and in cooperation with Adam Kemezis (University of Alberta), are organising a conference with an international line-up at the TU Dresden.
The conference aims to highlight the place of Herodian's work within the ancient historiographical genre and in relation to other literary forms, and to explore his value for our understanding of literary-cultural developments in the third century CE.
