The goal of the program
Buddyprogramm should help you with your first steps at the university, especially enrollment, as well as to help you get more acquainted with the city.

How does the Buddyprogramm run?
ou will get a buddy from already enrolled students at the university. We are going to do our best to match you with people from the same study field, so that they would help you with the problems specific to that field. Your buddy is at the same time your contact person that should support you with your personal problems and issues. For example, they could help you fill out applications, write motivation letters, accompany you to administrations etc.

As an Institute, we offer help for our Ukrainian students, as well as for their relatives threatened or fleeing the war, for our colleagues and students at Ukrainian universities. If you need concrete help or know someone who needs protection, psychosocial counseling or support, please do not hesitate to contact the members of the Institute.

The Georgius Agricola Scholarship Program has 36,450 euros (and an expected additional 20,000 euros) available (exchange studies / studies without a degree). If we receive more applications than there are scholarships available, we will use these specific applications to notify the GFF and the SMWK of specific requirements. Furthermore, there will also be a call for applications for scholarships for degree seeking students (studies with a degree) as part of this scholarship program, probably by the end of next week.

As a result of the situation in Ukraine, an increasing number of Ukrainian citizens are arriving in Germany. At the same time, the EU was able to adopt Directive 2001/55/EC (Mass Influx Directive), which allows Ukrainians to work in EU countries. Many Ukrainians are currently looking for a job in Germany.

We, pludoni GmbH, have decided to make a charitable contribution within the scope of our experience and possibilities in the field of personnel marketing. We have therefore recently launched a job portal that is aimed in a targeted manner at Ukrainians living in Germany.

Translation request and support offers

Canadian and German NGOs that are helping Ukrainian refugees relocate from Poland to other points in Europe.

Translators are desperately needed, specifically translators proficient in Ukrainian. I have been building a network of translators, both Russian and Ukrainian, but we really need more Ukrainian translators. Would you be able to give me names of people willing to help in some way? Translations of Ukrainian documents into English or German is the primary task.

Students of the Department of Slavic Philology have created a website with essential information for people who have fled Ukraine and are safe or still on the run; also information for those who have remained in the country to show them prospects in Germany, as well as information and language material for helpers.

The site contains a picture dictionary (German/Ukrainian), words and phrases in Ukrainian/German, medical history forms (German/Ukrainian) - for adults as well as for children and their parents, and much more. The students are keen to reach as many potential users as possible and in this way provide quick and effective support for Ukrainian people and helpers.

Despite everything, the people in Ukraine are confident: Ми подолаємо це пекло! - We will overcome this hell! We want to help so that this confidence is confirmed by reality.
