Financing your studies
The question of how to finance your studies is an important one. Various options are available to you (BAföG, scholarships, bank loans) for funding your university studies at TU Dresden. You can find these listed on the pages of the Central Student Information and Counselling Services and Dresden Student Union.
One advantage in this context is that the Free State of Saxony has no tuition fees. Besides the general cost of living, however, you will need to calculate for the bi-annual semester fees for studying at TU Dresden. In return, you will receive your personal semester ticket, which entitles you to free transport throughout the Upper Elbe transport network (VVO) including the local trains of Deutsche Bahn AG. You can also apply for your student EMeal card, which entitles you to subsidised student meals in Dresden Student Union canteens.
