Technische Universität Dresden (TUD)
The TU Dresden working group brings together expertise in media discourse, digital literacy, and international project management. Led by Prof. Dr. Holger Kuße, the team conducts research on propaganda, hate speech, linguistic aggression, and media communication in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Researcher Marianna Schulz also has expertise in media-related discourse analysis and extensive experience in organizing international capacity-building activities for different target groups on topics such as digital learning, digital teaching, digital research, and European academic culture. The team also benefits from the project management expertise of Christina Spirow from TU Dresden’s European Project Center, ensuring effective coordination and implementation of project activities. Together, the group combines academic research, educational innovation, and strong international cooperation experience to advance digital media literacy in higher education.

Universität Innsbruck (UIBK)
The project team at the University of Innsbruck (UIBK) brings together expertise in media literacy, propaganda analysis, AI-driven media research, assessment literacy, and visual storytelling. The team is responsible for quality assurance and evaluation, including organizing a Spring School on media literacy at the University of Innsbruck in 2027 and supporting the development of high-quality teaching materials. The team is led by Ass.-Prof. Dr. Gernot Howanitz (until July 2026) and Ass.-Prof. Dr. Magdalena Kaltseis, both of whom have extensive experience in (digital) media analysis. Their expertise is reflected in their previous project, KPoP (2023–2025), funded by the Austrian Academy of Sciences, which explored the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) to analyze online media narratives. The Innsbruck team also includes two further experts in media literacy: Dr. Eva Binder, a leading scholar in Eastern European film and media studies, and Dr. Svitlana Pidoprygora, an MSCA4Ukraine Postdoctoral Fellow whose research focuses on representations of Ukraine in comics. The team is also supported by Roxana Hammer, a student of Slavonic Studies. Together, the Innsbruck team combines a strong foundation in Slavonic Studies with broad expertise in digital media literacy and media analysis. This profile will contribute to the project’s quality assurance and evaluation activities, helping to ensure the academic quality, consistency, and overall impact of the project outcomes.
Cherkasy State Technological University (ChSTU)
The ChSTU team brings together expertise in linguistics, communication studies, information security, cybersecurity, and international project work. Led by Prof. Dr. Olena Pchelintseva, an institutional coordinator and senior expert in Slavic languages, communication theory, and language policy, the team contributes strong academic expertise in language, media, and communication. Prof. Dr. Emil Faure provides expertise in information technologies, computer networks, information security, and international research projects. The team also includes Assoc. Prof. PhD Olha Ihnatyeva, who specializes in foreign language education, particularly Ukrainian for non-native speakers, and Assoc. Prof. PhD Liudmyla Usyk, whose expertise covers cognitive linguistics and project management. PhD Artem Lavdanskyicontributes knowledge in cybersecurity, web development, and the technical implementation of national and international research projects. Together, the ChSTU team combines linguistic research, digital technologies, cybersecurity, and project management experience to support the development of digital media literacy in higher education.
Chernihiv Polytechnic National University (CPNU)
The Chernihiv Polytechnic National University team combines expertise in international project management, quality assurance, curriculum development, and digital transformation in higher education. Led by Nataliia Kholiavko, the team brings extensive experience in coordinating and managing international projects, fostering cross-sectoral cooperation, and implementing innovative educational initiatives. Anatoliy Prystupa contributes substantial expertise in quality assurance, monitoring, evaluation, and sustainability of international projects, ensuring the long-term impact and effectiveness of project outcomes. Anna Verbytska specializes in curriculum development and modernization, with a strong focus on aligning educational programs with emerging societal, technological, and labor market challenges. Volodymyr Bazylevychprovides expertise in the design, adaptation, and continuous improvement of digital platforms and educational technologies, supporting the digital transformation of learning and teaching processes. Together, the team integrates project management excellence, educational innovation, quality assurance, and digital expertise to strengthen institutional capacities and advance sustainable development in higher education.
Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University (DSPU)
The DSPU team brings together experts in media education, psychology, digital security, and international project management. Ihor Hrynyk and Khrystyna Voitovych are responsible for project coordination, management, reporting, and cooperation with international partners. Halyna Prystai supports project communication and dissemination activities, including engagement with target groups and the promotion of project outcomes. Yurii Skvarok contributes to the development of institutional regulations and the integration of project outcomes into university study programmes.
The research group includes Olena Nevmerzhytska and Orest Huk, whose work focuses on media education and the impact of media on personal development. Olena Nevmerzhytska conducts research in media education and media pedagogy and teaches courses on Media Education and Preschool Media Education. Orest Huk specializes in media education in the socio-pedagogical field and in the use of information and advertising technologies in social work. Andrii Zymianskyi is a researcher in personality psychology, social psychology, psychological trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and psychological support in wartime conditions. Roman Leshko specializes in digital security, cyber hygiene, personal data protection, and safe behaviour in digital environments. Together, the team combines expertise in media education, psychology and digital security to support the development of digital media literacy in higher education.
Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University (KhNAHU)
The KhNAHU working group brings together robust expertise in pedagogical design, curriculum development, and technical innovation to advance digital media literacy within higher education.
Led by Natalia Opryshko, Associate Prof. and PhD in Philology and Head of the International programmes and Projects Department, the team specializes in the strategic implementation and ethical implications of educational technologies, focusing on foreign language training, AI-application and academic integrity. The core of the group consists of Olha Artomova, leading specialist at The International programmes and Projects Department, PhD in Human Communication and Management, who spearheads the design of educational programs and innovative courses, alongside three dedicated content developers and researchers: Nadiia Morhuniva, Head of the Language Training Department, Valeriia Taranenko, leading specialist of the Language Training Department in CALL technologies and Doctor of Economics, Professor Yaroslava Levchenko, who has already successfully implemented some media literacy-related topics in her own course at the Faculty of Administration and Business, KhNAHU. Together, they drive the integration of modern pedagogical frameworks into media literacy curricula. To ensure the highest academic and operational standards, the team leverages specialized support roles. The Head of the Ukrainian Studies department, Nelia Nikulina, serves as the expert in language accuracy, ensuring the linguistic precision and high quality of all educational materials. The technical execution and digital infrastructure of the project are managed by Mykhailo Kholodov, a technician who brings an advanced academic perspective to the role with a PhD in Engineering. Operational efficiency and robust compliance are anchored by Anton Kholodov from administration and Natalia Konieva from the finance department, ensuring seamless local project implementation and rigorous financial management.
Combining deep pedagogical research, linguistic excellence, and structured project administration, the KhNAHU team is dedicated to fostering resilient digital literacy and high-quality educational frameworks in a rapidly changing societal landscape.
