Priority is given to the international modules of your degree program.
Master and Diploma: International Studies I (5 CP), International Studies II (10 CP), International Studies III (15 CP)
Bachelor: International Qualifications I (5 CP), International Qualifications II (10 CP), International Qualifications III (15 CP)

These modules are specially created for international studies and are assigned to the supplementary area. In the case of compulsory transfer (Diplom/Master: 2026/27; Bachelor: 2027/28), these modules are structurally credited in the compulsory elective area and assigned across the board to the area of Business Administration and Economics (all degrees except D WINF) or Business Information Systems (D WINF) (see Dean of Studies information event on 16.10.2024)

You can also include foreign credits in subject modules of your degree program, subject equivalence is a prerequisite here. These are checked by the Examination Committee and subject representatives on the basis of the attached detailed course descriptions.

Foreign credits are credited to modules offered in the degree program if equivalence exists; if equivalence does not exist, structural crediting takes place (see Dean of Studies information event on 16.10.2024).

Coursework completed abroad is recognized according to our module structure. This means that you would like to include a 6 CP course in a 5 CP module here. In this case, only 5 CP will be recognized. The international modules offer advantages here, as they offer many CPs in total and the examination achievements can also be assigned proportionately.

Coursework completed abroad is recognized according to our module structure. This means that you would like to include a 6 CP course in a 5 CP module here. In this case, only 5 CP will be recognized.
Structural recognition
The ECTS credits actually earned and the original course title (English) will be transferred according to your transcript of records. The assignment is made to the field and, if applicable, the profile.

This information does not apply to Master PIE students.

An equivalence table for compulsory transfer (Diploma/Master: WS 2026/27; Bachelor: WS 2027/28) has unfortunately not yet been published.

What is known, however:
The international modules (International Studies or International Qualifications) will be structurally credited in the elective area in the new PO's and assigned across the board to the field of Business Administration and Economics (all degree programs except D WINF) or Business Information Systems (D WINF) (see Dean of Studies information event on 16.10.2024)

Unfortunately, only if it is a university with a similar grade structure. In this case, we can offer you graded recognition on request. This is the case, for example, in countries such as Italy, France and Spain.

In Eastern and Northern European countries in particular, however, there is a significant difference in the grading system. Therefore, conversion certificates from the host university must be enclosed for graded recognition requests (e.g. for stays in Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Austria, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Slovakia, Czech Republic). Otherwise, only ungraded recognition can be granted. Examination results are recognized as "passed".

A complete application consists of:

• Application (cover sheet)
• Attachments according to crediting requests
• Printout or link of the original course descriptions of the partner university (in German or English: otherwise to be submitted with a technical translation) for subject-specific or structural* crediting (*only for PO 2024 or MPIE)
• original transcript of records from the partner university or transmission of the access code or, if sent digitally, forwarding of the e-mail from the partner university to: wiwi.international@tu-dresden.de
• For graded recognition requests for universities with an incomparable grading system Supplementary sheet

If you earn at least 20 ECTS credits abroad in your main study program, you can choose the specialization in International Studies upon written request (§6 SO).

In addition to the modules recognized abroad, the module"Collaboration in the Virtual Classroom" by Prof. Schoop can be credited as a foreign course and thus for the International major.

This international field of study offers you a higher proportion of coursework in the supplementary area (see study plan).

For WING students, the minimum number of credits for a major also changes (see DPO, § 21)

No, but you can. It is also possible to take coursework and examinations during your leave of absence. Please contact the Admissions Office for advice on the advantages and disadvantages of taking a leave of absence.

Pure language courses not related to economics must first be included in the language modules of your degree program, unless they have already been taken or TUDIAS refuses to recognize them. An overview of the language modules can be found in the module handbooks of your degree program or in the overview of the Examination Office: Examination dates > Examination offer foreign languages.

For language recognition, please submit the following documents to TUDIAS by email:

• Attachment of the application for recognition
• Extract of the description of the desired language module from our module handbook
• Detailed course description from the partner university (for languages other than English/French/Spanish/Italian only with English translation)
• Transcript of Records

Incomplete applications will not be processed by TUDIAS.

After returning the application, you must enclose the confirmed attachment with your application to the Wiwi Examination Committee.
