UNIVERSITY-WIDE INAUGURAL LECTURE BY PROF. KUEHL
The monthly university-wide inaugural lecture introduces newly appointed professors with outstanding strategic importance for TUD's research profile. On November 16th 2023, it was the turn for the commonly appointed chair of TUD's International Institute (IHI) Zittau and Senckenberg Museum for Natural History Görlitz of Mammalian Diversity, held by Prof. Hjalmar Kuehl. Under the headline "On the trail of the great apes", Prof. Kuehl, gave amazing insights into his research on African ape poulation and the human influence on their cultural and behavioural diversity.
The lecture was introduced by TUD's rector Prof. Ursula Staudinger and IHI Zittau's directer Prof. Thorsten Claus. Prof. Wesche, the director of the Senckenberg institute in Görlitz, gave a short laudatio on his newly appointed colleague.
