Presentation of a concept for modeling adaptive learning mechanisms for learning management systems
Author: Sebastian Kucharski
As part of our participation in the meeting of the Computer Science Network, we had the opportunity to present our work on a tool for user-friendly modeling of adaptive teaching-learning mechanisms for learning management systems and to talk to teachers about this and the use of new digital teaching-learning tools in general. The Network for Computer Science is a cross-university platform whose aim is to network research and teaching in the field of computer science. It is used both for professional exchange and for joint work on specific topics. For this purpose, the computer science network is involved, for example, in the creation of topic-specific task collections and digital learning content or the general exchange on the subject of digital teaching, digital teaching-learning tools and didactics. The work presented by us deals with a teaching-learning tool that is intended to counteract the learning management system as a one-size-fits-all solution. For this purpose, it offers the teacher the possibility to create didactic scenarios independently of the learning management system used, which specify how the learning process can be influenced with the help of text-based interactions between the system and the learner. This approach makes it possible to use the learning content that already exists in learning management systems for the learning process. This prevents the teacher from having to create new learning content in order to benefit from the adaptive teaching-learning mechanisms.
