­Honorary Professor from the Department of Electrical Power Engineering at TUD becomes new President of CIGRÉ

The lecturer for high-voltage overhead lines at the Chair of Components of Intelligent Energy Networks Hon.-Prof. Dr. techn. Dr.-Ing. habil. Konstantin O. Papailiou was elected President of CIGRE on 27.08.2024 in Paris. CIGRE (Conseil International des Grands Réseaux Électriques) is an international professional organization that focuses on the field of energy transmission and distribution. The CIGRE Session takes place every two years and is the organization's largest event.

The Institute for Electrical Power Supply and High Voltage Technology congratulates Prof. Papailiou on this excellent award: "We wish him much strength, success and good ideas in helping to shape change in the field of electrical power supply.
