Prof. Juergen Czarske becomes visiting professor at Utsunomiya University in Japan
He will be active in the greater Tokyo area, conducting lectures and research work at Utsunomiya University. At the university’s Center for Optical Research and Education (CORE), work is currently underway in the fields of biosensing, health monitoring, and diagnostic medicine. Furthermore, lectures on medical technology—specifically those based on optical engineering principles—are planned.
Invited Talk of J. Czarske at Utsunomiya University
His host is Prof. Yuki Otani, the Director of CORE center, which was established in collaboration with Canon. Prof Otani is also the President of the Optical Society of Japan.

Prof. Czarske looks forward to using this latest visiting professorship to deepen international collaborations and to intensify international student exchange programs. A student from Dresden has already conducted research at CORE—an opportunity facilitated by Prof. Czarske. A former doctoral student of Prof. Czarske, who worked on DFG research projects in Dresden as part of collaborations with Keio University, is now a professor in Japan (Tokyo, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Toyosu Campus).
More than ten former staff members of Prof. Czarske have become professors. Students interested in a research stay in Japan are invited to contact Prof. Czarske.
