Laser optical measurement methods for the analysis of complex fluid flows
Natural and technical flow processes involve numerous complex phenomena in fluid mechanics. At the Laboratory for Measurement and Sensor System Techniques, the application of novel interferometric and spectroscopic measurement methods is investigated regarding the employment for various applications in fluid mechanics. For this purpose, the precise measurement of injection and cleaning processes, microfluidics as well as aeroacoustics and combustion research are cited as examples. For instance, the exploration and utilization of contactless measurement methods contribute to the analysis and enhancement of the efficiency of sound absorbers in aircraft engines.
