MINT meets ART - Exhibition in the Zeuner Building
Aushang
From January 16, 2026, the first results of the MINT meets Art project will be on display in the corridors of the Zeuner Building in front of rooms ZEU 340 and ZEU 354.
A total of 9 students from grades 7-10 have artistically processed the impressions and dialogues of their exchange with the scientists of the RTG 2868 D³ Research Training Group.
The works take up geometric and content-related elements of the research as well as individual perspectives on the researchers and participants of the Profundum.
The exhibition invites you to look at STEM topics from a different perspective and to rediscover the connection between science, data and the people involved.
Participating artists: Helena Winkler; Samira Riedel; Viona Voigt; Karoline Hermann; Noah Chelkowski; Jonah Claashen; Janne Klag; Helena Bicker; Jasper Panning
The descriptions of the individual pictures can be found below the picture gallery box.
Colors of knowledge
The colors symbolize knowledge and learning during the lecture and the movement in the picture is meant to represent that learning is a moving process.
Il vortice della ricerca
The picture symbolizes the different perspectives of research by means of the colourful splashes of paint that form the background. The orange swirl of paint is particularly striking, symbolizing that theory and practice never go hand in hand.
Colorful attention
In the picture "Colorful Attention" we wanted to capture the atmosphere at our first meeting at TU Dresden. We also wanted to show that we combine the creativity of art and the curiosity of science in our paintings. We also wanted to show the researchers behind the science and thus represent the most important part of research. Without the curiosity of the researchers and us students, we certainly wouldn't have got this far.
L'atelier de la vie
With this picture, we wanted to show that this project was much more than just painting. It was about capturing special experiences and capturing them in a photo as a lasting memory. As a viewer, you can put yourself in the situation, almost as if you were part of the moment. At the same time, we wanted to make it clear that, in the end, it is the people behind a project who are the most important and bring it to life.
El ojo de la ciencia
The image is dominated by strong red and yellow tones in the background, which create a warm, slightly restless atmosphere, with a large eye in the foreground that initially appears human, but is surrounded by fine, precise structures reminiscent of scientific meta-materials. This makes the eye appear to be part of an experiment. It symbolizes scientific curiosity and knowledge and illustrates the connection between human perception, art and modern research.
The colorful rivers of concentration
The three "rivers of color" emphasize the separate paths of art, science and the people who connect these aspects. However, they also show the interdependence and connection between them. Together, these rivers form a harmony and emphasize the concentration that prevails between and within them.
Golden infinity
The main motif of our painting is based on the golden ratio and is emphasized by the title and the golden color accents. The background colors are dark red and light pink, which allows the painting to match the color scheme of the other paintings. There are many formulas and mathematical elements in the spiral, which illustrates the connection between artistic aesthetics and mathematics.
