AUTERAS nominated for BMBF Innovation Award

Prof. Klaus Kabitzsch interviewed about AUTERAS at the KNX Summit 2024
The open-topic funding program "Validation of the technological and social innovation potential of scientific research (VIP+)" of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) aims to accelerate the use of research results in business, science, administration or civil society. Every year, the BMBF awards an innovation prize to three outstanding projects - this year, the five-member AUTERAS team headed by Prof. Klaus Kabitzsch was nominated for the award.
The nomination recognizes the extraordinary success of the project in exploiting the results of public funding. AUTERAS® is a planning and design software for building automation. Its AI explains all building functions to users via video, asks them what they want and suggests solutions based on specific software/hardware and their networking. It finds the most cost-effective options and calculates the energy efficiency class required by the Building Energy Act. Around a thousand users access the free version every month. The paid version, developed together with many manufacturers, will then complete the solution on the construction site directly by downloading it into the network, saving up to 90% of the design work and up to 30% of the energy.
The first market segment will be www.KNX.org (500 manufacturers worldwide), which is why the AUTERAS team has contributed to several international standards.
The final winners will be selected in March 2025 and will be publicly announced at the VIP+ Innovation Conference in Berlin.
