In the course of study Diplom Informatik, a project work of 20 weeks is to be written within the scope of the module INF-D-950 and to be defended in a colloquium after an evaluation of 4.0 or better. In accordance with the module description module description, the student should work on selected questions using specialist literature and other working materials and objectively represent solution concepts developed independently on this basis.
- The topic is provided by a university lecturer or employee with teaching and examination qualifications.
- The task/theme and the final paper do not have to be submitted to the examination office.
- A registration of the examinations (project work and colloquium) has to be done before the start of the project work.
In the main study stage, a student research project (Großer Beleg) must be completed. It is an independent written form on a specialist topic, which generally provides evidence of successful familiarisation with a subject area chosen by the student and on which the thesis can build in terms of content. The final paper is to be prepared during the course of studies. The workload should amount to 200 hours. The processing time may not exceed six months.
- The topic is provided by a university lecturer or employee with teaching and examination qualifications.
- The assignment of tasks/the topic and the final paper do not have to be submitted to the Examination Office.
- The topic presenter (supervisor) must be a member of the Faculty of Informatics at the Dresden University of Technology.
- The topic of the Research Project can be returned within the first six weeks after issue.
- The Research Project can be admitted in the form of a group work.
- The paper of the Research Project must be evaluated and graded by the topic provider within four weeks of submission (graded performance record). If the paper has been graded at least as adequate (grade 4.0), the candidate must generally defend it after two further weeks.
- The defence is to be graded; proof of performance is then issued if this grade is at least sufficient (grade 4.0).
- The assessment, together with the topic and the time taken to complete it, must be submitted to the Examinations Office by the supervisor and will be included with your diploma papers.
