Echtzeit-AGmuSTAR - Transferring Linux Threads to L4
Nowadays most applications are running on Linux platforms. This brings a variety of advantages and benefits with it, such as supporting a range of architecture and platforms, a plethora of available software and supporting libraries as well as the vast collection of drivers that supports almost every device. However, this also comes with a complexity that makes it challenging to use Linux in scenarios where execution timing and security are key.
In my presentation I will explore an approach, which allows threads of a Linux application to run inside a noise free environment, while still being able to access the services provided by Linux. For this I am leveraging the L4 microkernel operating system as a host on which I am running a virtualized Linux guest.
