Description
This seminar is designed to equip students with the skills necessary for conducting thorough literature research in the fields of privacy and security, and for effectively communicating their findings to a scientific audience. To this end, the seminar simulates the structure of a scientific conference: students first submit papers for peer review, and upon receiving a positive evaluation, they present their work in a short presentation to the other attendees.
The seminar will proceed in the following phases:
- Literature research and writing: Each student will select a seminar topic (topic suggestions will be provided) that can be addressed through thorough literature research. Students will conduct a scientific literature review to evaluate the current state of the art related to their topic. They will then write a report that summarizes, compares, and discusses the relevant literature.
- Review and revision: At the end of the writing phase, students will submit their written reports for peer review. Each student will receive two peer reviews for their paper. Based on the feedback, students are expected to revise their reports accordingly.
- Presentation: Each student will give a presentation on the results of their literature research.
The deadlines for each phase will be communicated during the seminar.
