Circuit and system design
Lecturer /contact:
Dr.-Ing. Th. Preußer
Time and location: summer semester
lecture, exercise course: see timetable Goal:
The goal of this course is imparting fundamental knowledge about possibilities, methods and tools of integrated systems hardware design. The relation between microelectronics and software development is thereby just as important as close relation between hardware and software designs. CAD design systems and simulation of integrated systems are presented as well as new aspects of technology development.
Exercises:
The Exercises of this course are based on each other. They enclose beside theoretical tasks also practical contents and are carried out in the lab. During the exercises practical experiences are gathered in handling of modern design systems and design strategies using the example of simple circuits and systems.
Table of contents:
- Introduction
- Integration technologies
- Bacsics of circuit design
- Standard circuits
- ASICs
- CAD systems
- Synthesis of VLSI systems, introduction
