Portrait of Professor Ihlenfeldt
Prof. Dr. Steffen Ihlenfeldt has held the Chair of Machine Tools Development and Adaptive Controls at since 01.08.2015. He was born in Aschersleben in 1971.
Without machine tools ..., the "queen of machines", the manufacture of a wide range of products, including other machines, would not be possible
Being a professor... offers the opportunity to work autonomously and self-determinedly in the academic world, as well as to convey interrelationships in teaching and to promote the ability to make one's own decisions.
Students ... must learn to work independently at university and have the opportunity to develop a personal profile. A university must allow freedom for individual educational paths.
In the future ... digitalization and virtualization will increase the fusion of real production technology and its virtual image, but real products will still only be created with real machines.
If I could study again ... then perhaps biology or medicine to understand how learning and order formation processes work in the human brain, in order to work together with engineers or computer scientists on networked systems that are more intelligent than the sum of the individual systems.
Excellence ... means creating sustainable success from the combination of breadth and excellence.
