Portrait of Professor Kyosev
Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Yordan Kyosev has held the Chair of Assembly Technology for Textile Products at the Institute for High-Performance Fiber Systems Technology: Medicine, Mobility, Energy, Infrastructure (ITM) since August 2019. He was born in 1973 in Svilengrad, Bulgaria.
Without assembly technology for textile products … we would all be walking around naked, we wouldn’t be able to sit in a car or take a seat in any soft chair, skydiving and camping wouldn’t be possible, no firefighter would be able to put out a fire, and no one would have been able to fly into space.
Being a professor… is the honor of imparting knowledge to others, but also of showing each person the right path with patience and tact until everyone has found their own place in life.
Students… are my daily partners, with whom I explore the latest developments in my field. The students’ dreams, their visions of technology, and the challenges they face keep me young—and I’m glad for that. But being a student must also mean having the perseverance and patience to practice diligently—despite the technology that does almost everything for us today.
In the future … everything will become more complex, more interdisciplinary, and more exciting—and hopefully we’ll all be able to develop products entirely virtually, without expensive testing.
If I could go back to school … I would have studied medicine so I could help many people directly. But I’ve always had too much respect for the complexity of the human body.
Excellence … means working thoroughly, systematically, meticulously, and above all, in an interdisciplinary manner with a large network.
