Additional qualifications
In addition to the normal curriculum, courses are provided by or through the professorship that provide supplementary qualifications and increase subsequent employment opportunities.
- The training to become a European Welding Engineer (SFI) is based on the teaching content of the Chair of Joining Technology and Assembly and therefore represents a favorable opportunity to obtain this certified additional qualification while still studying. An information event is held once a year. Further information is available under the link "SFI-Training".
- The welding practical course serves to deepen the knowledge from the courses on joining technology/welding technology and is offered on an optional basis. Due to the high demand, an application is necessary.
- The course "Mechanical Joining" is an essential preliminary stage for the training to become a screwdriving engineer, which is offered by the Deutscher Schraubenverband e.V. (German Screwdriving Association). The contact person for this training is Dr. V. Johne.
- For students who focus on factory planning and process design, the MTM training is a useful addition.
- A REFA course is organized by the Chair of Industrial Science. You can find information about it on the website of this professorship.
