Andrés Lasagni, from TU Dresden and Fraunhofer IWS, has been elected as the new Scientific Coordinator of the Network of Argentinian Scientists in Germany (Red de Científicos Argentinos en Alemania (RCAA)). The election took place during the last annual meeting of the network, celebrated at the Argentinean Embassy in Berlin, with the presence of the Ambassador of Argentina to Germany, Mr Fernando Brun, the RCAA members as well as the former Scientific Coordinator, Prof. Aldo Boccaccini.
Prof. Lasagni said: "[...] It is a great honour for me to become the new Scientific Coordinator of the RCAA. It is also a huge responsibility for me, which I will try to perform with the highest commitment. I would like also to join Ambassador Brun as well as all RCAA members in warmly acknowledging the great leadership of Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini during the last 6 years as the first Scientific Coordinator of RCAA and I am sure that we will continue to count on his experience and engagement in the next period for the further expansion of the RCAA".
The RCAA was established in Nov. 2009 and its goal is to foster research collaborations and scientific interactions between Germany and Argentina and is part of the “RAICES program” of the Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation of Argentina. The RCAA has more than 200 members, who are scientists from Argentina carrying out research activities in Germany in a broad range of scientific areas, from social sciences to natural sciences and engineering, being based at German Universities, research institutes and industry.
