Insight into resource processes at the Long Night of Science

At the Dresden Long Night of Science on June 20, 2025, our department demonstrated how valuable resources can be extracted using process engineering. One example of this is foam flotation, which separates ground ore into valuable materials and gangue. Visitors could further watch exciting experiments on magnetic forces and the Marangoni effect, which are also used in resource processes. In hands-on experiments and using DiggiClub's educational software, children could mine ore themselves and try out simple separation processes.
