- Deformation behaviour of metallic materials and composites under static and cyclic stress
- Fatigue behaviour of metallic materials and composites (in particular in the area of very high cycle fatigue)
- Material physics or material mechanics-based modelling and development of reliable and accurate lifetime prediction concepts
- Modification of structural features through material-appropriate production processes
