The Chair of Aircraft Engineering at ECCM 2026 in Oslo
Joanna Rehfeldt and Martin Starke at the ECCM 2026 in Oslo
The Chair of Aircraft Engineering at Dresden University of Technology can look back on a successful participation in this year’s ECCM 2026 (European Conference on Composite Materials) in Oslo from 21 to 25 June 2026. Our staff members Joanna Rehfeldt and Martin Starke represented our Chair at the event and presented the latest research findings from current research projects to an international audience of experts.
Through their presentations, they made valuable contributions to key future topics in modern aeronautics and materials science:
🌱Joanna Rehfeldt spoke on “Mesoscale finite element modelling of flax fibre composites with automated material calibration”, providing in-depth insights into the modelling and efficient use of innovative natural fibre composites. (Co-Autors: Chris Fischer, Manuel Reif, Georg Grötzschel, Martin Semsch, Johannes Markmiller)
✈️ Martin Starke presented findings on “Design and simulation of load-bearing hydrogen tank integrations in wing structures”, which represents an important step towards realising zero-emission aircraft concepts. (Co-authors: Chris Fischer, Manuel Reif, Georg Grötzschel, Martin Semsch, Johannes Markmiller)
The conference provided an excellent platform for academic discourse and for expanding our international network. 🤝
The Chair would like to thank you for your commitment and for representing us so well in Norway!
At the same time, we are looking forward to the upcoming ECCM 2028 in Dresden, organised by the Institute of Lightweight Structures and Plastics Technology (ILK) at TU Dresden, where we will also be contributing with excellent research findings.
