Student Assistant job offer: Automation of material parameter characterization for numerical simulation
We are looking for
a Student Assistant (10h/week, 3 months) as soon as possible with
- Interest in numerical simulation and material characterization,
- knowledge of CAD software and simulation tools,
- programming skills (Python and Matlab),
- good to very good academic performance,
- independent way of working,
- good knowledge of English.
The job includes carrying out and evaluating real experiments. In addition, the automation of data processing and simulation of these tests is carried out. A further focus is research into certification-relevant aviation requirements, in particular material data determination and parameter derivation. The development of processes for certification-compliant material parameter derivation is also one of the tasks. Artificial intelligence may also be used to characterize the material parameters.
The advertised position offers interested students the opportunity to actively participate in innovative research projects and acquire practical skills.
Background
Precise material characterization is an essential part of numerical simulation and plays a central role in aviation. Within the framework of EASA and FAA requirements and conformities, TUD Dresden University of Technology develops advanced methods for material parameter determination that support the virtual verification and certification process.
Our goal is to enable efficient and certification-compliant determination of material parameters through the use of algorithm-based methods. This includes the development and implementation of processes for the automated generation and evaluation of material data from experimental tests.
