Module Analysis of Motion-Guided Machines
This is an elective module for the branch of study Production Engineering for the Diplom programme Mechanical Engineering as well as for the branch of study Production Engineering for the postgraduate course Mechanical Engineering.
In the course of this module the chair offers a lecture entitled
Basic knowledge, methodical abilities and practical skills regarding causes and effects, model description and calculation as well as target-oriented interference and correction of behaviour influencing productivity and accuracy of production systems is imparted, focussing on evaluation of geometric-kinematic, static, thermic and dynamic characteristics. The students gain practical experience in holistic and continuous approaching mechatronic applications in machine tools, for example
- Position controlled electro-mechanic feed drives,
- Piezoelectric fine adjustment systems,
- Active magnetic mounted main spindles of machine tools and
- Parallel kinematic motion systems (Hexapod),
particularly in terms of modelling (concentrating elements, beam elements, FEM), calculation (linear structural analysis, digital simulation) and experimental analysis of functional relevant influences of behaviour (statics, thermal, dynamic).
The module is offered every academic year during the winter semester and 7 credit points can be acquired. The module grade consists of the weighted mean of the grade of the examination and the grade of the examination performance collection of protocols.
