Funding associations
Two funding associations support the teaching and research of Industrial Design Engineering at TU Dresden.
The association ‘Freunde und Förderer des Technischen Designs an der TU Dresden’ is chiefly sustained by graduates and co-operation partners. It promotes research, training, and exchange in the field of Industrial Design Engineering since 2007. Its activities to date include the organisation, hosting and financing of the Symposium for Industrial Design Engineering Dresden, which has been carried out under the motto “Entwerfen Entwickeln Erleben” since 2012. On top of that, it supports the publishing of academic books in the field of Industrial Design Engineering, the organisation and financing of additional courses for student of Industrial Design Engineering, as well as the awarding of the Rudi Högner Advancement Award.
The non-profit organisation “August – Raum für Design e. V.” was founded by Industrial Design Engineering students in 2013 and thrives on their involvement. On top of supporting teaching in the form of courses such as workshops or lectures, one focus of the association is the networking of the groups among themselves, as well as among the teaching staff and graduates. In addition, the association serves as a platform for the student design office, enabling students to gain practical experience in self-employment.
