Co-operations
As an integrative discipline, design is a key driver of sustainable innovation: in a problem‑solving oriented process we translate emerging technologies and context‑specific planetary, societal, and individual needs into impactful solutions. Creativity, empathy, and aesthetics are at the core, enabling sustainable, user‑centered design outcomes.
Design is always collaborative. Only through joint work, open feedback, and shared responsibility can truly relevant and innovative solutions emerge.

Committed locally and internationally networked
Locally, we work as an interdisciplinary teaching, research and development team within TU Dresden and with partners from science and culture in the DRESDEN-concept network. Internationally, we are involved in networks and collaborations, contribute our expertise to the EUTOPIA alliance and participate in European research consortia to improve the interaction between humans and technical systems.
Different formats, many possibilities: We use different collaboration formats. In real laboratories or living labs, we develop and test innovative solutions together with partners from science, industry and society under real conditions. In contract research, we work on questions from external partners in a targeted manner and contribute our design expertise to specific projects. Longer-term industrial collaborations create a stable framework for continuous knowledge and technology transfer and promote sustainable innovation. These formats are supplemented by collaboration in European research consortia and international networks. This creates a variety of synergies that enrich the design process and create added value for society.
We work on almost all of our projects in interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary cooperation with strong partners.
