TU Dresden is one of Germany’s eleven Universities of Excellence and ranks among the top five universities in the country for engineering and technology. But more than that, TU Dresden has also made an excellent name for itself internationally.

Using our internationalization strategy “TU Dresden – Connected to the World” as a foundation, we are constantly working on our international portfolio and are committed to fostering our existing partnerships. We award innovators who have fantastic ideas on internationalization at TU Dresden with the Internationalization Award.

Membership in international networks
TU Dresden is a member of numerous networks across Germany and internationally which enable us to engage with partners at the top of their fields. These networks facilitate establishing contacts, initiating new projects and applying for funding programs.
Dresden Summer Schools
Every year, there are a lot of excellent Summer Schools taking place in Dresden: at TU Dresden and other partner institutions of the DRESDEN-concept research alliance. The thematic scope and professional excellence of these compact teaching and research workshops are now united under the umbrella brand "Season of Excellence – Dresden Summer Schools" and thus made even more visible to the international scientific public, and bright minds from all over the world.
TUD Global Citizenship Certificate The TUD Global Citizenship Certificate is a strong contribution of TU Dresden to implement Sustainable Development Goal 4 "Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all". The TUD GCC program qualifies, empowers, and connects its students (including doctoral and exchange students) to an international, local-global scientific and civil community. It rewards their intercultural and global competencies, experiences, and their local-global commitment in the form of a significant and promising certificate, issued in the name of the University Executive Board.
Fit for the world: Services for TUD staff
With the free SprInt Program, TUD staff have many opportunities to learn foreign languages or improve their intercultural skills, either in group courses or in one-on-one sessions. TU Dresden’s Center for Continuing Education also offers intercultural training for employees. All staff also have the opportunity to complete funded teaching or training stays at partner universities in other countries.
