International Composition
Over the past 10 years, our student community has become increasingly international (from 9.2% in 2010 to 16.8% in 2021). There are currently 5,336 international students studying at TU Dresden (source: internal statistics dated Dec 1, 2020). Out of the 8,933 staff members at TU Dresden, 13% are international. Our staff community comprises 98 different nationalities (source: internal statistics dated Dec 1, 2020). International Teaching
Currently, TU Dresden offers 25 English-taught Master's degree programs and 33 double-degree programs with international partners.
Of the students that started their studies in the 2019/20 winter semester, 16.8% were international students. Whereas the number of students achieving their first degree only made up 7.7%, international students pursuing a Master's or a PhD made up almost one-third each (consec. Master's: 33.57%, PhD: 31.68%). International students who pursue other forms of study, such as other second or third degrees, made up almost one-seventh of international students (others: 14.51%). International Ranking
This year, TU Dresden rose in the THE Ranking by 20 places compared to the previous year and again holds its place among the top 200 universities worldwide.
International Partnerships
TU Dresden has partnerships with universities and other institutions worldwide at the faculty, school, or university level. At the university level, TU Dresden has a network of 133 partners worldwide. For student exchanges, this figure rises to 429 partners worldwide.
