From Data to Insights: Rethinking Scientific Visualization
Research thrives on new ideas—but it only has an impact when the results are communicated in a clear and compelling way. This is precisely where the “Data Visualization” online workshop offered by the EUTOPIA Connected Community Agile in Biomechanics comes in. It invites master’s and doctoral students from the materials science department to discover and test new approaches to scientific data visualization together.
In an interactive and hands-on format, participants reflect on typical challenges in scientific visualization and collaboratively develop strategies to present complex data in a clearer, more understandable, and more engaging way. The exchange with researchers and early-career scientists opens up new perspectives on communicating research results and fosters creative solutions.
A special focus is placed on innovative and AI-supported methods of data visualization. Together with international experts, participants will learn about current tools and approaches for presenting scientific content not only accurately but also effectively. Participants can bring their own visualizations, refine them, and discuss them directly during the workshop.
The workshop thus offers far more than a technical introduction: it creates a space for creativity, experimentation, and international exchange. Anyone who wants to make their research more visible, acquire new skills, and actively shape the future of scientific communication will find this the ideal opportunity to transform data into insights and insights into impact.
Dates: June 23 and June 30, 2026 (online)
Target audience: Master’s and Ph.D. students in engineering and materials science.
