4th Edition of the Eutopia Doctoral Summer School Lisbon - Apply now

The EUTOPIA Doctoral Summer School (EDSS) 2026 will take place from 17 to 21 July 2026 in Portugal. The programme will be hosted at the Convento da Arrábida, with the final day held at NOVA University Lisbon’s Campolide Campus.

The summer school offers an immersive and interdisciplinary experience for PhD candidates from all fields. Participants will work in international teams, supported by mentors and keynote speakers, to develop innovative research projects addressing complex challenges. The programme combines plenary sessions, brainstorming workshops, and collaborative project work.

Applications are open until 9 June 2026. Participants are selected through a competitive process based on a motivation letter outlining their academic interests and objectives.

Participation fees:

• PhD students from EUTOPIA universities and global partners: €850

The fee includes accommodation in shared rooms at the Arrábida Convent, full board, transport between Lisbon and the venue, as well as full access to all academic activities and facilities.

The EUTOPIA Doctoral Summer School is a key initiative to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, critical thinking, and networking among early-career researchers across the alliance.
